About Us

A Journey Towards Enlightening Education and Lifelong Learning

The Future Schoolhouse was founded on a simple but powerful truth: education should honour the whole child — not just their academic ability, but their imagination, emotions, and inner growth. In a world increasingly dominated by tests, targets, and screens, we offer an alternative rooted in human connection and developmental wisdom.

Shaped by first-hand experiences within both the high-pressure academic systems of Asia and the fast-paced culture of the West, our team understands what’s often lost in the race for achievement: joy, individuality, creativity, and purpose. We saw the difference first-hand through Waldorf education, an approach that nurtures not just the mind, but also the heart and will of the child.

The Future Schoolhouse is here to help parents rediscover what education can be. Through storytelling, community-building, research, and accessible guidance, we support families who are seeking a gentler, deeper, and more holistic path for their children.

Waldorf education is not just a curriculum — it’s a philosophy of life. One that values rhythm over rush, relationships over results, and becoming over performing. The Future Schoolhouse exists to be a bridge: between Eastern and Western values, between tradition and possibility, and between generations.

Meet the Founder

Passionate Educators and Advocates

I grew up in a high-pressure Asian education system that prized obedience, excellence, and conformity above all else. I studied long hours, complied with expectations without question, and collected academic “gold stars” along the way. I advanced to law school, joined top international law firms, and eventually took on the role of Head of Legal at a publicly listed company. By every external measure, I had “made it.” My family was proud, and society admired me—yet inwardly, I felt disconnected from the motivations driving my life. I realised I had become polished, efficient, and successful—but I lacked soul, creativity, and inner direction.

Those questions came to a head when my son was born. Juggling the demands of a high-powered career with family life, I found myself chronically exhausted, emotionally distant, and lacking true purpose. I was living a vision planted by others—not one I chose for myself—and it was clear: the way I had been trained to succeed had become a cage.

It was during this time of disillusionment that I encountered a powerful insight from Rudolf Steiner. He cautioned that mainstream education, by focusing narrowly on intellectual development while ignoring the emotional and moral dimensions, not only fails to nurture a complete human—but effectively deforms certain inner capacities, such as the will or moral feeling—leaving adults unbalanced and disconnected. I didn’t fully grasp the meaning of this until I looked more deeply—and saw it reflected in my own life.

Why Waldorf Changed Everything

Seeking something meaningful for my son, I enrolled him in Waldorf schools in Hong Kong and London. What I discovered was more than a curriculum, it was a philosophy that honoured individuality, creativity, emotional maturity, and embodied learning. I witnessed the difference: children learning through art, movement, story, practical work, and rhythm — not driven by tests or screens, but by curiosity and ethical growth. Through that experience, I began to reclaim parts of myself long dormant: intuition, wonder, presence, and purpose. The transformation wasn’t only about education for children—it was a reawakening in me as a parent and adult.

My Mission: Building The Future SchoolHouse

That awakening inspired the creation of The Future SchoolHouse—a platform dedicated to guiding families who seek something beyond conventional schooling. We offer trusted resources, connections to partner Waldorf schools, online courses, and consultation services tailored for families across the UK, Hong Kong, China, and beyond.

My vision is to empower parents to choose education that honours their child’s humanity—not just their achievement. To help families step off the treadmill of performance and into something richer, more generative, and more authentic.

The Impact of Waldorf: Beyond Childhood

Waldorf education nurtures not just academic ability, but:

  • Emotional resilience and inner confidence
  • Creative expression and imaginative thinking
  • Reflective self-awareness and moral grounding

For adults, this means reframing success—not as external accolades, but as integrity, purpose, and wholeness. It encourages us to reconsider: what kind of adults—and world—are we helping to build?
